Interpretive Centre

The Y Water Discovery Centre's interpretive displays focus on our planet’s highest order natural asset – fresh water. Why water, you may ask. Water is essential to all life, yet we continue to pollute and waste it. So it is vitally important we all take time to look, listen and learn a bit more about this precious and surprisingly scarce resource. After all we do live in the driest inhabited continent on Earth.
The 12 interpretive elements within the Centre are designed to spark interest and challenge your understanding about our water resources.
Also on display is an intriguing three-minute 3D holographic display. Pepper's Ghost explains the story of the Yea Wetlands from when Indigenous communities lived in the area, through European settlement until the present day.
