Walks & Drives
Murrindindi offers many varied opportunities for walking. Perhaps the most well known trails are found in the Cathedral Ranges - a spectacular, seven kilometre ridge of sharply upturned sedimentary rock, with a variety of walking tracks ranging in difficulty from easy to challenging. Information on walks and camping can be found at www.parks.vic.gov.au or at the Y Water Discovery Centre.
A lesser known secret, and closer to Yea, is the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve. Situated at the northern end of the Toolangi State Forest, the reserve provides excellent opportunities for bush waking. Trails include the Murrindindi River walk, the Murrindindi Cascades walk, and the Boroondara Track circuit encompassing the Willhelmena Falls. Details on walks can be found at www.depi.vic.gov.au or at the Y Water Discovery Centre.
In addition to the above there are many other walks available within the Murrindindi Shire including the Yea Wetlands Walk, the Yea Heritage Walk and of course the Great Victorian Rail Trail.
